About the position
Wells Fargo is seeking talented individuals to join the 2025 Markets Summer Internship in Corporate and Investment Banking. This internship program is designed for undergraduate students and aims to provide an in-depth understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities of a full-time employee within the Markets division. The Markets team delivers a comprehensive set of capital market products and solutions to a diverse customer base, including public debt and equity products, as well as hedging strategies for interest rates, commodities, and equity risks. The internship will allow participants to work alongside experts in various business areas, including Sales & Trading, Research & Strategy, and Origination. Interns will engage in significant responsibilities that include understanding clients' investment strategies and risk appetites, assisting trading desks in managing risk, supporting senior sales representatives in client relationship building, and pricing and structuring customized investment strategies. The program also emphasizes the importance of analytical training, networking opportunities with senior executives, and collaboration with peers across different business lines. Interns will be expected to work long hours in a demanding, highly focused, and collaborative environment, identifying broader market trends and preparing research and strategy presentations. The internship lasts for 10 weeks, with primary locations in Charlotte and New York, and limited opportunities available in Houston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Interns will receive competitive hourly pay, with a rate of $53 per hour in all listed locations. This program not only provides valuable work experience but also fosters a commitment to building a career in the financial services industry, emphasizing personal accountability and a results-oriented mindset.
Responsibilities
- Understand each client's investment strategy and risk appetite to build long-term relationships with Wells Fargo Corporate & Investment Banking.
- Assist the trading desk in managing risk.
- Support senior sales representatives in building relationships with clients.
- Price and structure customized investment strategies using conventional cash and derivative products for institutional investors.
- Use risk management tools to monitor trading positions and risk.
- Identify broader market trends to support the sales and trading desk.
- Prepare research and strategy presentations.
- Assist in providing analysis for accounts upon request.
Requirements
- 6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
- Bachelor's degree with an expected graduation in December 2025 or May/June 2026.
