About the position

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking an Undergrad Intern for the Datacentric Platforms and Architectures Department within the Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD). This role involves developing cloud-native applications and data engineering solutions to address complex challenges in the space enterprise. Interns will work closely with experienced developers and subject matter experts, gaining hands-on experience in cutting-edge technologies and contributing to various space-related projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop cloud native applications to solve complex problems in the space enterprise.
  • Collaborate with a team of developers and subject matter experts on space-related projects.
  • Leverage cloud technologies for data engineering and architecture solutions.
  • Interface with project leaders, product owners, and customers to communicate project contributions.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university program pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Availability to work full-time for a minimum of 10 weeks outside of university term.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Intermediate programming ability in Python and/or Java.
  • Ability to containerize an application using Docker.
  • Hands-on experience with utilizing REST APIs.
  • Ability to use Git for source control.
  • U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Active security clearance.
  • Experience using FastAPI or Flask (Python) and/or Springboot (Java) to develop microservices.
  • Ability to create REST APIs.
  • Ability to deploy applications to Kubernetes.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS GovCloud, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Intermediate programming ability in C, C++, Rust, and/or Go.
  • Ability to create and deploy Helm charts.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and DevSecOps concepts and/or practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience with relational, non-relational, time series, and/or graph databases.
