About the position

The Community Partnerships Program at Earthjustice is dedicated to collaborating with frontline communities to eliminate environmental hazards and ensure access to environmental benefits. Our mission is to work collectively with community partners to confront harmful social and political structures, thereby enhancing the environmental conditions in neighborhoods. We support community-led movements by employing a comprehensive range of advocacy strategies aimed at challenging the status quo. Our representation of frontline communities across the nation involves taking action against polluters that jeopardize health, safety, and quality of life. We strive to close dangerous regulatory loopholes, enhance access to information and records, increase transparency in environmental decision-making, and enforce federal, state, and local laws designed to protect communities from environmental harms. Founded in 1971, Earthjustice has established itself as the premier nonprofit environmental law organization in the United States, employing approximately 575 staff members across 15 strategically located offices nationwide. We leverage the power of law and the strength of partnerships to safeguard public health, preserve natural landscapes and wildlife, promote clean energy, and combat climate change. Our collaborations with thousands of groups and supporters enable us to tackle the most significant and precedent-setting cases across the country, resulting in a distinguished track record of achieving substantial and lasting environmental protections. Our work is organized into three primary areas: Lands, Wildlife, and Oceans; Healthy Communities; and Climate and Energy. Each area focuses on critical issues such as protecting endangered species, preventing pollution, promoting sustainable agriculture, and facilitating the transition to clean energy.
