About the position

Textron Specialized Vehicles Inc. is a leading global manufacturer of various vehicles, including golf cars, utility and personal transportation vehicles, snowmobiles, side-by-sides, all-terrain vehicles, professional turf-care equipment, and ground support equipment. The company markets its products under several different brands, and its vehicles are utilized in diverse environments such as golf courses, factories, airports, planned communities, theme parks, and hunting preserves. As an Electrical Engineer I, you will be involved in the design and development of various electrical systems and controllers. This includes working on components such as motors, controllers, switches, relays, wire harnesses, electronic displays, and lighting systems. You will assist in the design and documentation of vehicle electrical architecture, which includes creating service manuals and part books. Your role will also involve reviewing existing supplier circuit designs to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness, thereby eliminating potential quality issues and identifying cost savings. In addition, you will be responsible for reviewing and creating functional specifications and engineering design standards. Conducting Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and creating test and analysis plans for product validation will be key aspects of your job. You will perform tolerance studies on components and assemblies, develop engineering component and assembly drawings, and resolve test issues using the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) process. Furthermore, you will manage component and system-level validation testing, producing testing and certification reports. Cross-functional design reviews and assessments for Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) will also be part of your responsibilities. Collaborating with outside suppliers to develop new technologies and cost reductions for electrical and electronic systems will be essential, as will identifying new ideas, products, and features that enhance customer satisfaction and maintain the company's competitive edge in the industry.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering required.
  • 0-2 years of experience required.
  • Proficiency in software such as UG/CAD/Teamcenter, Matlab, XFMEA, and Microsoft Office applications.
