As an Electrical Engineer Intern, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the design and development of various mechanical and electrical systems. This includes working on components such as vehicle frames, steering systems, suspension, axles, drivelines, seating, roll cages, body panels, lighting, electrical harnesses, and electrical system designs, as well as circuit board design and microprocessor programming. Your responsibilities will involve completing assigned tasks within defined project timelines, ensuring that all work aligns with the project schedule. You will be expected to revise, review, and create functional specifications and engineering design standards. Additionally, you will create test and analysis plans for product validation, perform tolerance studies on components and assemblies, and develop and release engineering component and assembly drawings, along with vehicle bills of material. Incorporating Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) on engineering drawings will also be part of your duties. You will need to resolve and document any design issues that arise during testing and participate in cross-functional design reviews, as well as Design for Assembly (DFA) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) assessments on components and assemblies. Performing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on components and assemblies for stress and thermal evaluations will also be a key aspect of your role.
