About the position

As a Diagnostics and Data Analytics Engineer at Textron Aviation, you will play a crucial role in developing airborne and ground-based diagnostic systems for our aviation products. This position involves creating and supporting tools that enable data insights across our fleet, which is essential for enhancing the performance and reliability of our aircraft. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of functions, including electronic hardware design, software design, automated test generation, and the preparation of certification documentation. You will be part of a dynamic team that is dedicated to innovation and excellence in the aerospace industry. In this role, you will support the integration of diagnostic systems on both new and legacy products by analyzing avionics data sources and architectures. You will design airborne electronic hardware and/or software that composes the onboard diagnostic systems, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and performance. Additionally, you will develop ground-based software, tools, systems, and processes that utilize diagnostic data effectively. Your work will also involve developing test setups, test harnesses, testing procedures, and certification documentation to ensure compliance with industry regulations. You will frequently interact with internal customers to understand and gather business requirements for new or updated data-driven processes. This collaborative approach will help you to create solutions that are not only effective but also aligned with the needs of our stakeholders. Your contributions will be vital in driving the success of our diagnostic systems and enhancing the overall customer experience with Textron Aviation products.

Responsibilities

  • Support integration of diagnostics systems on new and legacy products by analyzing avionics data sources and architectures
  • Design airborne electronic hardware and/or software composing the onboard diagnostic systems
  • Develop ground-based software, tools, systems, and processes to make use of diagnostic data
  • Develop test setups, test harnesses, testing procedures, and certification documentation
  • Prepare automated tests to verify electronic and software functions
  • Frequently interact with internal customers to understand and gather business requirements for new or updated data driven processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other related Engineering field
  • Less than 2 years of professional experience in a relevant role
  • Experience developing electronics, embedded software, or software under Linux platform desired
  • Experience with at least one programming language (C, Python, Java, C#)
  • Familiarity with relational databases and SQL desired
  • Strong computer skills, demonstrates excellent command of new software applications
  • Time management skills to work multiple concurrent projects of various size and scope
  • Quickly grasps new concepts when faced with unfamiliar or ambiguous tasks
  • Professional and diplomatic demeanor with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Applicants must be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S. for Textron Aviation at the time of making application, and visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
