About the position

The Electrical Engineer position at TRU Simulation Training is designed for a highly motivated, hands-on, self-driven individual who thrives in a dynamic prototyping environment. The ideal candidate will bring a fresh perspective to the design team and possess a strong desire for innovation. This role involves supporting the development and design of all facets of the flight simulator platform, which is crucial for both commercial and military aircraft training. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for researching, designing, evaluating, installing, operating, and maintaining electrical systems and processes that support these flight simulator trainers. In this role, the engineer will be tasked with altering and modifying designs to meet specified functional and operational performance requirements. Collaboration with peers and stakeholders is essential to implement new designs, resolve system operation errors, and establish effective procedures. The engineer will also create new electrical design documentation, including cable drawings, parts lists, wire lists, system prints, operation manuals, and maintenance manuals. Oversight of installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of designs is critical to ensure that equipment and systems are installed and functioning according to specifications. Additionally, the Electrical Engineer will be responsible for creating and presenting design engineering data for internal and customer design reviews. Research and analysis of data, such as customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals, will be necessary to determine the feasibility of designs or applications. The engineer will establish and coordinate maintenance and safety procedures, service schedules, and the supply of materials required to maintain equipment and systems in prescribed conditions. Cost estimation and preparation of contract documents will also be part of the responsibilities, along with writing performance requirements for product development or engineering projects. Keeping current on future technologies and products to determine their incorporation into designs is also a key aspect of this role.
