Solar Turbines is looking for candidates with a bachelor's degree, preferably with a discipline or focus in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aeronautical Engineering. This position is specifically a 4-year rotation program for entry level / early talent individuals. The selected candidate will spend the first year in Solar's Early Talent Training Program at Solar's Global Headquarters in San Diego, CA with additional assignments at Solar's Worldwide Overhaul Facility in DeSoto, TX. While attending training in San Diego and Texas, the successful candidate will receive both on-line web-based training, in-class Instructor Led Training, and lab based hands-on training. Additional structured on-the-job training which focuses on a broad exposure to Solar's products and the Customer Service organization will be conducted in the field and supervised by one of Solar's Domestic District offices. The structured on-the-job training will be coordinated with our commissioning and maintenance field teams at customer sites, controls engineering assignments, Customer Service Response Center (San Diego, CA), and our Worldwide Overhaul Facility (DeSoto, TX). The selected candidate will be mentored by experienced Regional Field Engineers (RFE's) and Field Service Representatives (FSR's) while conducting all hands-on training. Upon conclusion of the 12 months Early Talent Training Program, the candidate will commit to spending 3 additional years at ONE of our U.S. district offices as a Field Service Engineer/Representative. At this time, the selected candidate will be given a company vehicle to travel to customer sites within the district. This is a hands-on position, with a requirement for extensive travel, overtime, relocation, customer service interface / interaction, and possible offshore assignments. This position is responsible for providing technical and administrative support to our District offices in support of our customer's machinery. The chosen candidate must be well versed in both Solar and customer Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Management Systems; ensuring compliance to specified EHS requirements and best practices, as well as providing guidance to other Field Service Representatives and other personnel who will be visiting customer sites or facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and administrative support to District offices in support of customer machinery.
  • Participate in the Early Talent Training Program, including online, in-class, and hands-on training.
  • Conduct structured on-the-job training in the field under supervision of experienced personnel.
  • Travel to customer sites within the district using a company vehicle after training completion.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Management Systems at customer sites.
  • Mentor and guide other Field Service Representatives and personnel visiting customer sites.

Requirements

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably in an Engineering discipline.
  • Ability and willingness to travel, relocate, and work overtime.
  • High integrity and a high level of self-confidence.
  • Ability to handle high pressure deadlines and situations, and communicate in a professional manner.
  • 0-2 years related experience.
