About the position

As an Entry Level Staff Engineer in Site Design at Tighe & Bond, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team that includes engineers, landscape architects, planners, and environmental professionals. This position is based in our Portsmouth, NH office, where you will work in a hybrid environment, allowing for a blend of in-office and remote work. You will engage in a variety of infrastructure and complex land use projects, contributing to the planning and execution of designs that meet the needs of private and municipal clients. Our Land Use Team is composed of nearly 100 professional engineers who have established a strong reputation for excellence in the field. Our senior technical and project management leaders have received multiple awards, including ACEC Engineering Excellence and ASCE Project Awards, for their work with private, state, and local government clients. You will assist clients from the initial conceptual planning stages through to construction oversight, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while addressing the impacts of climate change. Sustainability and resiliency are key components of our site plans and designs, and you will be expected to incorporate these principles into your work. In this role, you will be involved in site planning, computer drafting and design, permitting, and providing construction phase services for land development and renewable energy projects. Your responsibilities will include preparing technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, and correspondence. You will also observe construction activities, assist with shop drawings and submittals, and create as-built and record plans. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, landscape architects, planners, and environmental professionals on infrastructure and land use projects.
  • Engage in site planning, computer drafting and design, and permitting processes.
  • Provide construction phase services for land development and renewable energy projects.
  • Prepare technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, and correspondence.
  • Observe construction activities and assist with shop drawings and submittals.
  • Create as-built and record plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Plan to complete the FE exam and eventually the PE exam.
  • Internship or full-time experience in surveys, site engineering, design, permitting, or construction observation is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with AutoCAD and hydraulic/hydrologic studies and modeling is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with renewable energy projects.
