About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer role at Raytheon involves developing and improving manufacturing processes to meet customer specifications. This position focuses on creating Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs), providing technical support, and driving continuous improvement initiatives using Six Sigma principles. The role requires collaboration with various teams to enhance manufacturing efficiency and ergonomics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool, and fixture designs.
  • Support daily manufacturing areas with process troubleshooting and incorporation of engineering changes into the MDP.
  • Disposition non-conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis as required.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement through process enhancements to improve cycle time and reduce ergonomic risks using Six Sigma principles.
  • Provide real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators, both in-house and at the supply base.
  • Develop tools and fixtures to enhance ergonomics in manufacturing processes.
  • Lead corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with preferred majors in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or aerospace engineering.
  • 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Excellent organizational skills with fine attention to detail.
  • Technical drawing interpretation and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools, preferably CREO/ProE.
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude and ability to work across disciplines.
  • Innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement and adapts to technological advances.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proven written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Current DoD security clearance (secret).
  • Experience with automated tooling, machinery, and programming.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PPT, Project, Word).
