About the position

The Manufacturing Engineer role at Raytheon focuses on developing and improving manufacturing processes to meet customer specifications. This position involves analyzing product specifications, creating Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs), and providing technical support to manufacturing teams. The engineer will drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards while collaborating with various teams to enhance manufacturing efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Manufacturing Data Packages (MDPs) including assembly instructions, workflow/routing, labor standards, tool, and fixture designs.
  • Support daily manufacturing areas with process troubleshooting and incorporation of engineering changes into the MDP.
  • Disposition non-conforming material with root cause and corrective action analysis as required.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement through process improvements to improve cycle time, reduce ergonomic risk to assemblers, automate, and reduce costs using Six Sigma principles.
  • Provide real-time technical support to manufacturers and fabricators, both in-house and at the supply base.
  • Develop tools and fixtures to enhance ergonomics in processes.
  • Lead corrective action investigations to prevent recurrence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with preferred majors in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, or aerospace engineering.
  • 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Excellent organizational skills with fine attention to detail.
  • Technical drawing interpretation and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools (preference for CREO/ProE).
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines.
  • Innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement and keeps pace with advances in technology.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proven written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Current DoD security clearance (secret).
  • Experience with automated tooling, machinery, and programming.
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PPT, Project, Word).
