About the position

The R&D Associate Engineer position at PepsiCo is designed for recent graduates pursuing a degree in engineering. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, execute, and launch innovative products within PepsiCo's portfolio. The associate will play a critical role in the innovation lifecycle, providing technical expertise from ideation through product launch, and will be involved in designing process test protocols and leading plant trials.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, execute, and launch new innovative products.
  • Design and develop process test protocols for product trials.
  • Lead the execution of plant trials and analyze test results for potential new product launches.
  • Troubleshoot processing issues during plant trials and make informed decisions in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Work with third-party equipment vendors and suppliers to optimize food and beverage processing technologies.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams including marketing, sensory, analytical, operations, and strategy.
  • Expand technical knowledge through internal education programs and external collaborations.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering (Chemical/Food Process/Mechanical/Electrical) or related majors.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into strategic project goals.
  • Proven ability to make significant technical advances using internal and external resources.
  • Understanding of incorporating business needs into technical decisions.
  • Ability and interest to work in laboratory, pilot plant, and manufacturing environments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and tasks.
  • Familiarity with data science is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
