About The Position

The Software Engineer I position at RTX Corporation involves working on the design, development, testing, and verification of algorithms for Multi-Spectral Targeting Systems (MTS) programs. This role is ideal for recent graduates with a background in STEM, providing an opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers in a collaborative environment focused on military radar and sensor solutions. The position requires participation in the full software lifecycle and integration of complex sensor systems, contributing to national defense efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
  • 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
  • Experience with C/C++ or Ada.

Nice To Haves

  • Software experience programming in Ada.
  • Familiarity with Agile lifecycle processes including Scrum, Continuous Integration, and Test Driven Development.
  • Working knowledge of UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks or other Real-time operating systems.
  • Current working experience with Object Oriented (OO) design and Unified Modeling Language (UML).
  • Experience with Telelogic DOORS, Rational CM Synergy and Change Synergy.
  • Experience with Power PC or similar processor, hardware interfaces, and space/airborne sensor systems.
  • Experience with design, code, integration, and testing of large systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and verify algorithms for Multi-Spectral Targeting Systems (MTS) programs.
  • Participate in the integrated product team (IPT) for the Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) business unit.
  • Develop embedded real-time software for MTS programs.
  • Perform software development and system integration and testing for complex sensor systems.
  • Provide flight test and field support as needed.
  • Work within a multi-disciplined team to develop the system.
  • Utilize modular design approaches and agile software development techniques.
  • Participate in the full software lifecycle development including requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing.
  • Perform requirements analysis to ensure system meets customer requirements.
  • Integrate system parameters and software solutions into the real-time system.
  • Participate in code and software artifact reviews.
  • Collaborate with engineers from other disciplines to obtain necessary information.
