About the position

The Hardware Electronics Engineer Intern position at Northrop Grumman offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the field of electronics engineering. Interns will work within the Navigation, Targeting, & Survivability (NT&S) Division, contributing to innovative projects that impact global security. This role is designed for full-time students pursuing relevant degrees, providing them with the chance to develop their skills and network with industry professionals while working on cutting-edge technology.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and development of electronic systems and components.
  • Participate in testing and evaluation of electronic systems.
  • Collaborate with team members on various engineering projects.
  • Support documentation and reporting of project progress and results.
  • Engage in problem-solving activities related to electronics engineering.

Requirements

  • Must be a full-time student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, RF Engineering, Microwave Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related STEM degree.
  • Must be available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2025.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is a prerequisite).
  • Ability to obtain Special Access Program within a reasonable period of time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Overall cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or higher.
  • Current/active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Familiarity with Analog, Digital Electronics, Power Electronics, RF, PCB, CCA, EMI/EMC testing, HDL, Power Amplifier, Transmitter, Matlab, DVT, FPGA, DC/DC, AC/DC.
  • Experience in leading small to moderately sized teams during product development.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
