About the position

Textron Systems is seeking a Financial Analyst Intern for the summer of 2025, based in Hunt Valley, MD. This internship offers a unique opportunity to engage with innovative defense technologies and services as part of Textron Inc., a leading multi-industry company. The intern will play a crucial role in conducting financial analysis, maintaining forecasts, and providing Estimate at Completion (EAC) reports for various projects. Under the guidance of management, the intern will be involved in projects related to monthly budgets, cost projections, and sales and profit estimates, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. The Financial Analyst Intern will be responsible for maintaining program measurement control systems, creating and maintaining standard financial reports, and providing day-to-day support to the program finance team. This includes establishing and maintaining baselines and EACs in the Earned Value tool (MPM), analyzing program trend data for Estimate to Complete (ETC) validity checks, and providing real-time information to management regarding EAC swings and program updates. The role is designed to provide hands-on experience in financial analysis within a dynamic and collaborative environment, allowing the intern to develop essential skills and gain valuable insights into the finance function of a major defense contractor. Interns at Textron Systems will have the opportunity to network with fellow interns, employees, and leadership, gaining exposure to new projects and mentorship. The internship period is from June 2025 to August 2025, and interns will also have the chance to apply for full-time positions or return internships before they are open to external applicants. Responsibilities

• Conduct analysis and maintain forecasts for Textron Systems.
• Provide Estimate at Completion (EAC) reports for various projects.
• Assist in projects related to monthly budgets, cost projections, and sales and profit estimates.
• Maintain program measurement control systems.
• Create and maintain standard financial reports for the finance team and other functions.
• Provide day-to-day support to the program finance team.
• Establish and maintain baselines and EACs in the Earned Value tool (MPM).
• Analyze program trend data for Estimate to Complete (ETC) validity checks.
• Provide real-time information to management regarding EAC swings and program updates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or have completed a bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field.
• Strong communication skills and ability to interface with management.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Self-starter with the ability to assimilate data into reports.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work with other Finance and Accounting functions.
