About the position

Textron Systems is seeking a Financial Analyst Intern for the summer of 2025, specifically from June to August. This internship offers a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful projects that contribute to the financial operations of the company. As a Financial Analyst Intern, you will conduct analysis, maintain forecasts, and provide Estimate at Completion (EAC) reports. Under the guidance of management, you will be involved in various projects related to monthly budgets, cost projections, and sales and profit estimates, as well as Earned Value reports. Your role will be integral to the program team, where you will maintain program measurement control systems and create standard financial reports for the finance team and other business functions. You will provide day-to-day support to the program finance team, analyze program trend data for Estimate to Complete (ETC) validity checks, and deliver real-time information to management regarding EAC swings and program updates. This position is designed for individuals who are self-starters, possess strong analytical skills, and are eager to learn and grow within the finance sector. Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis and maintain forecasts for Textron Systems.
  • Provide Estimate at Completion (EAC) reports under management direction.
  • Involved in projects related to monthly budgets, cost projections, and sales and profit estimates.
  • Maintain program measurement control systems.
  • Create and maintain standard financial reports for the finance team and other functions.
  • Provide day-to-day support to the program finance team.
  • Analyze program trend data for Estimate to Complete (ETC) validity checks.
  • Provide real-time information to management regarding EAC swings and program updates.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or have completed a bachelor's degree in Finance or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Self-starter with the ability to assimilate data into reports.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with other Finance and Accounting functions.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
