About the position

As an intern with Lycoming Engines, a division of Textron Systems, you will play a crucial role in the finance team, contributing to various financial analyses and reporting processes. The Financial Analyst (FA) Intern will be responsible for conducting analysis, maintaining forecasts and budgets, and providing weekly, monthly, and quarterly profit and loss actuals and forecasts as required. This position is designed for individuals who are currently pursuing or have completed a degree in finance or a related field, and it offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a leading aircraft engine manufacturing company. In this role, you will be integral to the finance team by maintaining product line measurements and creating and maintaining standard financial reports for the finance team and other functions within the business. You will provide daily support to cross-functional teams, assist in the month-end and quarter-end close processes, and support respective deliverables. Additionally, you will participate in the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) documentation and review process, conduct bill of material (BOM) audits, and develop reports and recommendations for corrective actions. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, providing a comprehensive learning experience in financial analysis and reporting. The internship is scheduled to take place from June 2025 to August 2025, during which you will connect with people across multiple disciplines and locations, gaining exposure to new projects and mentorship opportunities. This internship not only allows you to apply your academic knowledge in a practical setting but also offers networking opportunities with fellow interns, employees, and leadership across Textron Systems. You will also have the chance to participate in Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), volunteer days, and events, enhancing your overall internship experience.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct analysis and maintain forecasts and budgets.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or have completed a degree in finance or a related field.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interface with management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Self-starter with the ability to assimilate data into reports.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work with other Finance and Accounting functions.
  • Must not require sponsorship to work in the U.S.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
  • Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance processes.
