About the position

In this role, you will be responsible for serving as an Intern Information Security Analyst, supporting information systems that process classified information. Your responsibilities will be designated by the Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) and Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO). You will coordinate duties with the Systems Administrator and/or Information Systems Security staff to ensure all Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements are implemented and functional. This position provides Information Security system administration and technical computer support for DoD Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP). You will maintain a working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), RMF, Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG), Joint Air Force/Navy (JAFAN), Defense Intelligence Agency (DCIDs), and Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), with a particular focus on Automated Information Systems (AIS). Your tasks will include performing and tracking AIS self-inspections, reports, system tests, and responses. You will be proficient in configuring security settings and policies on an AIS, administering security infrastructure, and participating in formal certification, test, and evaluation activities. Additionally, you will conduct weekly audits of all AIS, identify vulnerabilities, and implement countermeasures. You will work closely with technical program personnel and engineers to ensure the development of compliant information systems security architectures, designs, and configurations. This role also involves supporting, monitoring, testing, and troubleshooting hardware and software Information Assurance (IA) problems pertaining to computers in a network environment, as well as the configuration and management of an enclave network environment in support of mission planning and classified networks.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Ability to run and interpret results from Information System (IS) audits on various operating systems.
  • Ability to run and interpret results from vulnerability security scans.
  • Ability to execute vulnerability patch management under the supervision of ISSM/ISSO.
  • Ability to identify problems and determine the accuracy and relevance of information.
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Nice-to-haves
