About the position

The position is for an Electrical Engineering intern within the Systems Integration and Test (SI&T) team at Raytheon. The intern will support the Hardware in the Loop Department by designing, building, and integrating test environments for weapon systems. This role involves collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the successful integration and testing of systems, contributing to the development of tactical software for missile systems.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary, fast-paced team that supports multiple products.
  • Support electrical engineering efforts, including technical drawing development, schematic creation, and circuit design.
  • Contribute to systems architecture activities to ensure compatibility between system level and embedded hardware capabilities.
  • Develop with System Verilog, Verilog, or VHDL languages, and utilize Xilinx, Altera, Lattice, or Microsemi devices and tool sets.
  • Identify and resolve issues and anomalies through debugging, troubleshooting, and related data analysis.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) in Electrical Engineering degree program, entering at least Sophomore year by summer 2025.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance eligibility.
  • Academic or internship experience that included hands-on testing of electronic equipment.
  • Experience with troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior internship experience in an engineering role supporting electrical engineering design.
  • Experience using analysis tools such as Altium, DX Designer, Mentor Capital, Creo Schematic, or Xilinx Vivado.
  • Experience using schematic capture tools and interpreting schematics.
  • Experience performing advanced FPGA firmware development (VHDL or Verilog).
  • Experience designing, testing, and integrating digital, mixed signal, and electrical system interconnects.
