About the position
The EHS Intern at DuPont is responsible for supporting workplace safety and industrial hygiene processes in compliance with EHS standards and regulations. This role involves evaluating safety programs, participating in risk assessments, developing training materials, promoting safety awareness, and assisting in incident investigations. The intern will gain hands-on experience in a collaborative environment, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the company.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate programs on workplace safety and health and participate in internal EHS program audits.
- Participate in risk assessments in site work areas such as laboratories and maintenance/construction.
- Assist in the development and review of employee training material for safety and health competencies.
- Promote safety awareness by creating and issuing safety campaigns for site personnel.
- Assist in testing site workplace environments through industrial hygiene monitoring and ergonomics.
- Participate in incident and near miss investigations and assist with the closure of findings.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Sciences/Engineering or a relevant degree.
- Strong interest in EHS activities.
- Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities with day-to-day supervision.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment as needed in site work areas.
- Legal right to work in the United States without restriction.
