About the position
The internship position for Information Technology - Developer at Textron Aviation is designed for students pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in fields such as Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or other related technical disciplines. The primary responsibility of the developer intern is to provide programming support in the development and enhancement of information systems. This includes writing, editing, and debugging applications to create effective solutions that address various business problems. The intern will work with a variety of tools and environments to manage code and will collaborate closely with business analysts and end users to understand, test, and implement these solutions. In addition to development tasks, the intern will participate in review and design sessions to plan projects effectively. They will also be called upon to provide training for both IT and non-IT team members on the systems that are developed. The internship is structured to last approximately 10 weeks, typically from late May to early August, with a commitment of 40 hours per week. Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship unless otherwise approved by the hiring manager. The role requires a professional and diplomatic demeanor, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a proactive approach to seizing opportunities. Interns will need strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to quickly grasp new concepts when faced with unfamiliar tasks.
