About the position

As a Security Operations Center (SOC) Intern at Motorola Solutions, you will work closely with SOC analysts, incident responders, and threat hunters to defend against malware, ransomware, and other cyber threats. This hands-on internship will provide you with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of threat investigation, network traffic analysis, and the security risks associated with various threats. You will gain insights into attack techniques and how to identify signs of compromise, all while developing your technical skills in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist SOC analysts in monitoring and responding to security incidents.
• Analyze network traffic to identify potential threats.
• Learn to investigate and understand various attack techniques.
• Identify signs of compromise in systems and networks.
• Develop problem-solving skills related to cybersecurity challenges.

Requirements

• Actively pursuing a degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or Computer Science.
• Completed a networking class or possess a basic understanding of networking and commonly used protocols.
• Basic understanding of any scripting language and ability to read and understand it.
• Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows and Linux.
• Ability to solve problems independently and a willingness to learn.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cybersecurity tools and technologies.
• Knowledge of security compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with incident response processes.
