About the position

The Quantitative Risk Management Summer Analyst program at Citi is a 10-week developmental opportunity designed for Masters students to gain a fundamental understanding of risk management within a global financial institution. Participants will engage in impactful projects, develop business acumen, and enhance their technical and analytical skills while working closely with management teams and receiving mentorship from senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Work on challenging and impactful projects within the Quantitative Risk Management team.
• Assess risk and develop business acumen related to risk management.
• Deepen technical and analytical abilities through hands-on experience.
• Collaborate with management teams and contribute to the risk organization.
• Participate in various risk disciplines including Central Governance, Treasury Risk Management, Global Market Risk, Model Risk Management, and Quantitative Risk & Stress Testing.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Masters in Engineering, Science, Technology, or Mathematics (Graduating between December 2025-May 2026).
• 0-2 years of significant, related work experience.
• Possess a strategic and analytical mindset with excellent judgment.
• Willingness to take initiative and offer creative solutions.
• Resiliency to work in a changing and competitive environment.
• Proficiency in analytical, coding, or data mining tools (e.g. SAS, SQL, R, Python, Hadoop, Spark, MATLAB, Tableau, PowerBI).
• Technologically proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to build and maintain excellent business relationships.
