About the position

The Packaging Co-Op Program at Nestlé offers undergraduate and graduate students a paid, 6-month opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the packaging field. Starting in June 2025, this program allows students to engage in real-life responsibilities, lead projects, and contribute to sustainability initiatives, quality improvements, and cost optimization efforts within the packaging team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sustainability and productivity initiatives to reduce material usage of existing packaging platforms.
  • Develop protocols and conduct extensive testing to evaluate product and package performance in a real-world environment.
  • Design a new package format for different channels of trade (e.g., Club stores, Value, Grocery, and E-commerce).
  • Assist in preparation of documentation and specifications for packaging materials.

Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program with a focus on Packaging Science, Packaging Engineering, or a related field (e.g., Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Food Science).
  • GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Analytical skills for data tracking and results analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Collaborative and able to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to deliver results on challenging assignments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Willing to relocate as necessary for the assignment.
  • Willingness to work in a corporate site or a manufacturing site during the duration of the co-op.
  • Willing to travel to Nestlé factories and/or supplier locations throughout the US.
