About the position

The Dartmouth Health Postgraduate Fellowship/Residency Programs offer Advanced Practice Providers an intensive 12-month experience of advanced training. Your training will be comprised of didactic and clinical curriculums that will occur concomitantly. Our Postgraduate Advanced Practice Provider Fellowships give you the opportunity to further refine critical thinking and highly marketable skills to a specialized patient population, provide high-quality care to a wide variety of patients in the chosen specialty, and be part of an organization dedicated to training the next generation of health care providers. You will learn and work alongside colleagues in all areas of healthcare who are committed to team-based patient care, and you will have access to MD, APP, and other staff participating in world-class research, teaching, and leadership through Dartmouth College, TDI, the Value Institute and Geisel School of Medicine, Biomedical and Science Libraries, DHMC Patient Safety Training Center (PSTC), gross anatomy lab, and POCUS Training. You will earn a competitive annual stipend, full and comprehensive benefits, and continuing education credits are available at no cost by participating in and attending lectures, conferences, grand rounds, and journal club. The Otolaryngology Surgical Physician Assistant Postgraduate Fellowship Program is an intensive 12-month training program focused on preparing you for a successful career in otolaryngology. Residents will be integrated into the Advanced Practice Provider team and work alongside other APPs, medical residents, and attendings. Your training will include parallel clinical and didactic curriculums that will provide you with a solid foundation in the diagnosis of conditions common to the ear, nose, and throat, as well as in outpatient, inpatient, and surgical management.

Responsibilities

  • Triage, evaluate, treat, and manage ear, nose, and throat problems.
  • Be an independent first assistant in the operating room.
  • Care for patients of all ages with medical and surgical disorders of the ears, the upper respiratory and upper alimentary systems and related structures, and the head and neck.
  • Carry out diagnostic evaluations of patients with otolaryngologic disorders.
  • Carry out the surgical and nonsurgical management of otolaryngologic disorders, including rehabilitation and appropriate referrals.

Requirements

  • Be eligible to obtain a PA license in the state of New Hampshire once admitted to the program.
  • Be a graduate of an accredited master's degree Physician Assistant (PA) program.
  • Licensed (or eligible for licensure) before the start of the program.
  • Certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Participate in a Personal Interview (virtual or in person).
  • A criminal background check and a urine drug screen will be performed as a part of the pre-employment requirements for final selected candidates.
