About the position

The Patient Safety & Quality - Insights and Operations Development Program at AbbVie is a two-year initiative designed to prepare participants for key roles within the organization. The program includes three rotations across various functional areas, providing experiential learning, formal training, and mentorship from business leaders. Participants will gain broad exposure to Pharmacovigilance & Patient Safety, Epidemiology, and Quality, ensuring they understand the safety profile and quality standards of AbbVie products.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in three rotations over two years to gain diverse experience in the Pharmacovigilance & Patient Safety, Epidemiology, and Quality organization.
  • Engage in experiential learning and formal training to develop skills relevant to patient safety and quality operations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the product lifecycle to evaluate and communicate safety profiles of AbbVie products.
  • Contribute to the development and management of AbbVie Quality Systems to meet quality policy objectives.
  • Assist in creating health literacy materials that are understandable and culturally competent for patients and providers.
  • Support compliance and quality assessments of AbbVie R&D's pharmaceutical and device products through inspections and audits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, mechanical engineering, or a related field, with graduation expected between December 2024 - June 2025.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a school or student organization setting.
  • Willingness to relocate outside of Lake County, IL for one or two eight-month rotations.
  • Submission of unofficial or official transcript at the time of application.

  • Ability to blend technical and business knowledge with analytical expertise and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing projects effectively within a work or academic environment.
  • Proven collaborative skills and adaptability in team settings.
  • Successful completion of the AbbVie Internship is preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher is preferred.
