About the position

The Patient Safety & Quality Development Program at AbbVie is a full-time, two-year rotational program designed to prepare participants for key roles within the organization. The program includes three rotations across various functional areas such as Pharmacovigilance & Patient Safety, Epidemiology, and Quality. Participants will gain hands-on experience, formal training, and mentorship from business leaders, allowing them to develop a comprehensive understanding of patient safety and quality assurance in medical device development.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in three rotations over two years to gain broad exposure across the Pharmacovigilance & Patient Safety, Epidemiology, and Quality organization.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety profiles of AbbVie products.
  • Engage in quality assurance activities for Contract Manufacturing Organizations and other external partners.
  • Conduct inspections and audits to assess compliance with GxP lifecycle standards.
  • Oversee new product development and risk management activities in medical device and combination products.
  • Analyze safety data relevant to AbbVie medical device products and provide insights for patient safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in bioengineering, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, with an expected graduation date between December 2024 - June 2025.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a school or student organization setting.
  • Willingness to relocate for 1 or 2 eight-month rotations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Capability to blend technical and business knowledge with analytical expertise.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects effectively within a work or academic environment.
  • Proven track record of collaboration in teams and maintaining high ethical standards.
  • Successful completion of the AbbVie Internship is preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher is preferred.
