About the position

The 2025 Post Bar Fellowship at the Harris County District Attorney's Office offers recent law school graduates an opportunity to gain practical experience while awaiting their Texas Bar results. This full-time position, lasting approximately 3-6 months, allows fellows to work closely with the Misdemeanor Trial Bureau, conducting various legal tasks and potentially leading to permanent employment upon passing the Bar exam.

Responsibilities

• Conduct victim and witness interviews.
• Conduct formal plea procedures.
• Prepare for trials and hearings.
• Perform legal research and writing.
• Conduct jury selection and participate in jury trials.
• Manage court dockets and hearings.

Requirements

• Recent law school graduate or 3L student preparing for the Texas State Bar exam.
• Excellent academic record, including GPA.
• Valid Bar license (upon passing the exam).
