About the position
The summer associate will work closely with a Small Cap investment management team and participate in most aspects of day-to-day operations, including morning meetings, new idea discussions, portfolio strategy reviews, etc. The ideal candidate possesses intellectual curiosity and is excited to work in a collegial environment. This role calls for someone interested in the research that underpins sound investment decisions. The summer associate position is a temporary role.
Responsibilities
- Researching a specific industry, to be determined based on need/ expertise, and providing an overview of industry, industry dynamics, and market participants, as well as providing a detailed review of potential high-quality companies to be considered for investment.
- Leading and/or supporting internal process-related projects to improve both the quality and efficiency of the team's workflow. Potential projects could include updates to reports used for analyzing new potential investments, updates to risk analysis tools, or updates to quantitative stock selection tools.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in business, finance, or related field.
- Knowledge of financial statements and financial statement analysis.
- An aptitude for reading and understanding company filings.
- Fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of a professional office environment.
Nice-to-haves
- Proficient in Excel.
- Working knowledge of Bloomberg a significant positive.
