About the position
This internship opportunity is designed for undergraduate Civil Engineering students interested in site design and land development. As part of the Facilities Engineering team at TKDA, interns will apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting, working alongside Professional Engineers and Technicians to prepare detailed drawings and assist with various engineering projects. The role includes responsibilities such as calculations for project dimensions, assisting with construction administration, and ensuring compliance with plans and specifications.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed drawings for site planning, roads, utilities, parking lots, grading and drainage, stormwater management, and erosion and flood control projects.
- Assist with calculations for project dimensions and elevations.
- Compute and tabulate quantities for projects.
- Occasionally assist with construction administration responsibilities by interpreting plans and observing construction operations.
- Maintain reports to ensure construction conforms to plans and specifications.
Requirements
- Undergraduate pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Previous experience or formal training with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work outdoors, walk and climb over rough terrain while carrying up to 40 pounds.
- Possession of a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
