About the position
The Construction Discipline Engineering Intern position at Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) offers a unique opportunity for students pursuing degrees in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering. Interns will engage in meaningful work supporting construction field engineering at the Savannah River Site (SRS), a U.S. Department of Energy facility. This internship is designed to provide practical experience in planning and executing construction work, including reviewing design documents and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Support construction field engineering in planning and execution of construction work.
- Review design drawings and design change packages.
- Develop work packages and material take-offs.
- Create field material requisitions.
- Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality and design specifications.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited four-year university.
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
- Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above and completed Sophomore year.
- Must pass General Employment Training (GET).
- Must pass Drug and Alcohol Testing (DAT).
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of MS Office programs and applications.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- General engineering and building code knowledge.
