The Summer Engineering Intern position at Stryten Energy offers a unique opportunity for rising Junior or Senior students in Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering to gain hands-on experience in the field. This internship will take place in Salina, Kansas, and is designed for students who are eager to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting. The intern will work closely with the engineering team to design and test electronic hardware and software specifically for transportation power systems. This role requires both independent work and collaboration within a multi-disciplinary team, providing a comprehensive learning experience in product and system development across various applications. Interns will be involved in several key activities, including the design and testing of electronics for new products, as well as sustaining existing products. They will collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software engineering teams to ensure cohesive project development. The intern will also be responsible for designing and building test fixtures, harnesses, and test software, which are critical components in the testing process. Additionally, they will create test plans and procedures to support the development of production test systems, conduct experimental tests, analyze test data, and write detailed test reports. Furthermore, the intern will assist production and quality assurance teams in transitioning new designs into production, ensuring that all products meet the required specifications and standards. This internship is a full-time position, requiring 40 hours of work per week from May to August 2025. It is a paid opportunity, although candidates must secure their own housing and transportation. The role is primarily based in an office environment, with occasional exposure to a manufacturing setting, and may involve lifting and moving items up to 50 pounds. Some travel may also be required between Stryten facilities and third-party contract manufacturing sites.
