About the position

The 2025 Summer Intern position in Global Purchasing & Manufacturing Services at General Motors offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of purchasing and supply chain management. Interns will engage with industry leaders, participate in cross-functional events, and contribute to community service activities while supporting the development of sourcing strategies and leading projects aimed at improving procurement processes.

Responsibilities

• Support in the development of sourcing strategies by analyzing the supply base, market conditions, and technology roadmaps.
• Lead projects aimed at making improvements in the areas of Procurement, Freight Bill Audit, Supplier Claims, or Asset Management.
• Use Lean tools to improve Purchasing, Inventory and Planning processes.
• Implement Standardized work to minimize variation in purchasing processes.
• Lead strategic supplier engagement activities (Technology Days, Request for Quotes, etc.).

Requirements

• Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
• Must be graduating between December 2025 and June 2026.
• Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week.
