About the position

The 2025 Summer Intern - Manufacturing Industrial Engineer position at General Motors is designed for students pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering. This internship offers hands-on experience in analyzing manufacturing operations and implementing changes to improve efficiency. Interns will work closely with supervisors, gaining valuable insights into the manufacturing process while contributing to the company's goals of excellence and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the efficiency of manufacturing operations and recommend changes related to personnel, material, machines, and facilities.
  • Confirm or recommend changes to layouts, labor control, and material control.
  • Assist in developing accurate methods and optimum operation layouts.
  • Perform vital calculations to complete studies and change routines or other systems of labor and material control.
  • Maintain frequent contact with others outside the work group.

Requirements

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • Must be graduating between December 2025 and May 2028.
  • Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the summer months.
  • Willing to work in a plant environment.
