The successful candidates will be responsible for analyzing the efficiency of manufacturing operations, focusing on personnel, materials, machines, and facilities. This role requires strong leadership abilities, critical thinking, and effective communication skills, with decision-making supported by mentorship from supervisors. Interns will confirm or recommend changes to layouts, labor control, and material control, ensuring optimal operation layouts and accurate methods. They will also perform vital calculations to complete studies and modify routines or systems related to labor and material control. The position demands frequent interaction with individuals outside the immediate work group, fostering collaboration and communication across various levels of the organization. The physical demands of this role include the ability to walk and stand for extended periods, read standardized work instructions, operate machinery, and conduct quality inspections. Interns must be able to respond promptly to safety instructions and alarms, wear personal protective equipment, and work in a loud, non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment. The role also requires physical activities such as bending, twisting, kneeling, and lifting materials weighing up to 40 pounds. Candidates should be prepared to occasionally sit, climb, and drive vehicles and equipment as part of their responsibilities.
