About the position
The 2025 Summer Intern position in Mechanical, Process, or Structural Engineering at Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a US Department of Energy facility. Interns will work under the guidance of engineering mentors, contributing to various technical projects and supporting system engineers in assessing system health and troubleshooting equipment. This internship is designed for full-time students pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in relevant engineering fields, providing a competitive hourly wage and a structured work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Work daily on various technical topics with an engineering mentor.
- Provide assistance to system engineers to assess system health and prepare/review design changes.
- Determine replacements for obsolete parts and troubleshoot system equipment.
- Review work packages and support/resolve installation technical issues.
- Assist in developing tools associated with system health and spare parts.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited four-year university.
- Currently working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Process, or Structural Engineering.
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or above and completed their Sophomore year.
- Must pass General Employment Training (GET) and Drug and Alcohol Testing (DAT).
