About the position
The Summer Intern in Public Affairs & Access at Genentech will support the Managed Care Contracts team in developing, negotiating, and executing contracts that enhance patient access to Genentech products. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain cross-functional experience and insights into the healthcare system, while working on impactful projects that drive positive change. The internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, with a focus on efficiency improvements through a new technology platform.
Responsibilities
- Assist in gathering, distilling, and sharing insights and reports generated from the new system.
- Document specific contract language in spreadsheets.
- Measure time savings and efficiency improvements for Managed Care Contracts resulting from the adoption of the new technology.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the contracting process from account strategy and development through contracting and negotiation.
- Collaborate with various departments within Public Affairs & Access.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing or have attained an Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, or PhD.
- Demonstrated proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to convey information clearly and listen effectively.
- Aptitude for problem-solving and innovative thinking.
- Outstanding time management and organization skills.
