About the position

The 2025 Summer Internship at Royal Caribbean Cruises offers a unique opportunity for students graduating in December 2025 or May 2026 to gain hands-on experience in the field of Interior Design and Architecture. This 10-week paid internship runs from June 2nd to August 8th, 2025, and is based in Miami, FL. Interns will work in person from Monday to Thursday and have the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays. This internship is designed for those who are eager to innovate, collaborate, and contribute to exciting projects rather than performing mundane tasks like filing papers or making coffee. Interns will be immersed in real-life business situations, working alongside experienced professionals in the Newbuild & Innovation department. This department focuses on the various phases of design and construction, emphasizing the coordination of design drawings, material selections, and final product inspections. Interns will have the chance to engage with a wide range of projects, including guest accommodations, entertainment venues, dining areas, and more, while also gaining insights into the naval and hospitality industries. Throughout the summer, interns will participate in ship visits, community projects, and exclusive events, including opportunities to interact with executives during Executive Spotlights. This internship promises to be enriching, providing interns with valuable skills and experiences that will enhance their resumes and prepare them for future careers in design and architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Assist various teams with analyzing, preparing, and building presentations required for project development.
  • Organize and track design documents and information.
  • Interface with a range of projects covering guest accommodations, entertainment, dining, retail, and more.
  • Collaborate with professionals from all areas related to the Naval and Hospitality industry.
  • Participate in ship visits and community projects.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a 4-year Bachelor or Graduate Interior Design, Architecture, or Design Management related degree program.
  • Expected graduation date of December 2025 or May 2026.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 preferred.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis.
  • Self-driven and motivated individual.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in student organizations, projects, or outside the classroom.
  • Passion for service and commitment to continuous improvement.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with design software and programs that facilitate workflow.
  • Previous internship experience in a related field.
