About the position

Trex Company, the world's number one decking and railing brand, is excited to announce its 2025 Summer Internship Program for Continuous Improvement Engineering. This internship is designed for students who are currently enrolled in an accredited industrial, mechanical, or chemical engineering program. As a Continuous Improvement Engineering Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting and leading continuous improvement initiatives within our manufacturing operations. Your primary focus will be on operational excellence, which includes participating in Continuous Improvement (CI) Events, such as Kaizens, where you will work collaboratively to identify and eliminate waste in our processes. Additionally, you will assist CI Engineers with various routine tasks that contribute to our overall efficiency and effectiveness in production. The internship will take place in an industrial environment, and it is essential that you are comfortable wearing appropriate personal protective equipment while on-site. You will have the opportunity to interact with Trex engineers and production operations personnel, gaining valuable insights and experience in the field of continuous improvement. Responsibilities

  • Lead and support continuous improvement efforts within manufacturing.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) Events such as Kaizens.
  • Identify and eliminate wastes in manufacturing processes.
  • Assist CI Engineers with routine tasks related to continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited industrial, mechanical, or chemical engineering program.
  • Successfully completed at least two semesters of coursework.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
