About the position

Trex Company, the world's number one decking and railing brand, is excited to offer a Quality Internship as part of our Summer Internship Program. This internship is designed for students currently enrolled in an accredited engineering program, providing them with hands-on experience in the quality assurance field. Interns will work closely with engineers and quality professionals, assisting with routine tasks and reporting, collecting data, and performing structured data analysis. This role is pivotal in supporting our continuous improvement quality initiatives and projects, which are essential to maintaining our high standards of product quality and safety. Interns will be responsible for completing time studies of existing quality professionals, implementing improvements to drive efficiencies within the department. They will also evaluate and streamline the data collection and storage processes of the quality department, ensuring that our data management practices are both effective and efficient. A key aspect of this role will involve developing automatic reporting systems for real-time quality data, which will enhance our ability to monitor and respond to quality issues promptly. Additionally, interns will monitor the tasks of quality professionals to mitigate any safety risks associated with their work. They will also have the opportunity to complete small projects as assigned by the quality manager or director, allowing them to gain valuable project management experience and contribute to the overall success of the quality team. This internship is an excellent opportunity for students to apply their academic knowledge in a practical setting, develop their skills, and gain insights into the operations of a leading company in the outdoor living products industry.

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers and quality professionals with routine tasks and reporting.
  • Collect data and perform structured data analysis.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited engineering program.
  • Successfully completed at least two semesters of coursework or be an upcoming Junior or Senior.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
