About the position

Trex Company, the world's number one decking and railing brand, is excited to announce its 2024 Summer Internship Program for Research & Development. This internship is designed for students currently enrolled in an accredited engineering program who are eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and innovative environment. Interns will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced engineers and contribute to various projects that are essential to the company's operations and product development. As a Research & Development Intern, you will assist engineers with routine tasks that are critical to the success of our projects. This includes data collection, analysis, and reporting, as well as setting up test equipment and conducting product testing. Interns will engage in projects such as analyzing data from dimensional measurement equipment for profile extrusion, setting up color measurement equipment for quality control, and assisting with product testing to ensure compliance with building code requirements. Additionally, you will help with first-article inspections of supplied components, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of the product development process. Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers with routine tasks, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Set up test equipment for product testing and quality control.
  • Analyze data from dimensional measurement equipment for profile extrusion.
  • Set up color measurement equipment for use in quality control.
  • Assist with product testing for building code requirements, including internal testing and testing at third-party labs.
  • Assist with first-article inspection of supplied components.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited engineering program.
  • Successfully completed at least two semesters of coursework.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above.
