2025 Summer Internship (U.S.) - Nuclear Engineering Intern

About the position

The Nuclear Engineering Intern position at Bechtel is designed for students currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science program in Nuclear Engineering. This internship provides hands-on experience in a multi-disciplinary team environment, focusing on the research and development of processes, instruments, and systems related to nuclear energy and radiation. Interns will engage in various responsibilities that support the engineering disciplines and regulatory compliance associated with nuclear facilities.

Responsibilities

• Developing the calculations associated with nuclear facilities.
• Understanding the regulatory requirements and processes for nuclear facilities.
• Coordinating the development and presentation of materials for meetings with regulators.
• Providing direct support to other engineering disciplines for nuclear related matters.
• Preparing calculations to determine radiation protection requirements.
• Analyzing facility hazards and developing the system safety basis.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a four-year Bachelor of Science degree program in Nuclear Engineering at an accredited college or university.
• Completed at least one year of undergraduate studies in the above field.
• Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
• Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project sites.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

• Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA.
