The purpose of this internship is to prepare college students for entry into the business world by providing a thorough understanding of the various functions of the Zebra Technologies organization. The program is designed to provide you with a full experience so that you can fully envision a career with Zebra. You will be positioned for success with training, exposure to all parts of the business, social activities, a professional mentor relationship and development sessions to help you discover your own performance edge! This is a hybrid opportunity. Zebra does not offer relocation or housing budget. The intern is required to work in the Lincolnshire, Illinois office a minimum of three days a week. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Join our dynamic team as a Machine Learning Engineer and play a pivotal role in driving forward innovative prototype solutions tailored to our specific vertical markets.
  • Conduct Exploratory Data Analysis to understand customer datasets and their unique requirements.
  • Create and optimize ML algorithms to enhance and streamline existing workflows.
  • Architect robust client/server systems that facilitate backend processing and effective data visualization.
  • Craft comprehensive patent disclosures that encompass the novel system solutions and the underlying methodologies.
  • Deliver compelling presentations and showcase solutions to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in graduate degree program in a Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or Statistics.
  • Must have undergraduate degree and currently enrolled in a graduate program.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be available to work in our Lincolnshire, Illinois office a minimum of 3 days a week.
  • Must have experience with C++ and/or Python.
  • Must have strong understanding working with Algorithms and Data Structures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)
  • Intellectual curiosity with a strong desire to learn and grow
  • Experience using Pytorch and TensorFlow (libraries)
  • Familiarity with Cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
  • Experience using big data.
  • Experience with Generative AI.
  • Proven leadership and excellence in professional, academic, and/or extracurricular experiences.
  • Ability to collaborate as part of a team.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
