This program is designed for students with leadership potential and aims to prepare them for a full-time position in a rigorous two-year rotational program upon graduation. Each year, only the top candidates are selected to join the AFDP, which places their careers on a fast track at the world's largest retailer. The AFDP has two distinct tracks: Finance & Strategy and Accounting. This posting specifically pertains to the Accounting Track, where interns will be placed in Controllership or Audit teams, gaining valuable experience in various areas such as External Reporting, Consolidation, and Audit processes. During the fast-paced 10-week internship, participants will engage in challenging and strategically relevant projects that drive Walmart's business forward. Interns will work closely with Commercial Finance, Controllership, or Audit teams, supporting various organizational areas including Strategy, Operations, Merchandising, and more. The internship provides an immersive experience, allowing interns to take ownership of projects while working in a dynamic team environment. Throughout the internship, participants will present their work to executive leadership and participate in case study workshops and competitions, enhancing their skills as finance professionals. The internship experience is enriched by opportunities to participate in Walmart's Annual Shareholders' Meeting and other events, fostering connections with associates from around the world. Interns will benefit from leadership development, professional mentorship, and technical training, gaining exclusive exposure to senior Walmart leaders, including CEO and CFO-level executives.
