About the position

The 2025 Tax Staff Accountant position is an entry-level role designed for individuals pursuing a career in professional services, specifically in audit, tax, or consulting. The role emphasizes skill development, client service, and understanding the firm's practices and culture, with work performed under close supervision. Responsibilities will increase as the employee demonstrates skill and proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively demonstrate a willingness to learn and attain greater knowledge on a continual basis.
  • Grasp concepts quickly and demonstrate knowledge of basic technical skills and related systems and procedures.
  • Make well-thought-out decisions and consider all facts prior to making final conclusions.
  • Ask appropriate questions and request supervision when in need of assistance.
  • Follow regulations and professional ethics standards appropriate to discipline including AICPA.
  • Keep current on all professional pronouncements.
  • Develop proficiency in the use of all technology necessary for performance execution.
  • Understand basics of client systems environment in the context of any client project.
  • Maintain designated chargeable hours for the year as determined by Geography & Discipline leaders.
  • Ensure quality control procedures are executed under the direction of the engagement supervisor.
  • Maintain positive client relationships and respond timely and accurately to internal team and client requests.
  • Develop efficient work habits to work accurately, efficiently, and with organization and detail-orientation.
  • Demonstrate willingness to understand how to work within budgetary parameters.
  • Communicate difficult situations encountered on engagements to supervisor appropriately.
  • Perform thorough self-review of all work prior to submission to supervisor.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent technology experience.
  • Bachelor's in Accounting (for Audit or Tax).
  • Master's degree or 150 credits completed, in designated states.
  • 0-1 year in a relevant position.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic business, technology, or audit principles/standards.
  • Actively working toward passing the CPA Exam or relevant certification for respective discipline.
