About the position

The Technical Sales Internship at Trane Technologies offers a hands-on opportunity for students to explore a career in technical sales within the HVAC industry. This 12-week program is designed to develop participants' technical, business, sales engineering, leadership, and communication skills while providing insight into the sales process and customer interactions. Interns will work closely with experienced Sales Account Managers and gain exposure to various aspects of Trane Technologies' operations, including Service, Equipment, and Building Automation.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with Sales Account Managers and customers to understand the design and application of HVAC systems.
  • Attend sales meetings and customer meetings alongside experienced account managers.
  • Gain hands-on experience in the sales process from start to finish on a job.
  • Create a sense of ownership and importance in the solution-making process by being a daily point-of-contact for customers.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering (open to all engineering areas of emphasis).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have the legal right to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months and provide proof of insurance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in sales or customer service roles.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
