About The Position

The Pathways Internship Program at the USGA is a unique 10-day internship designed for college and graduate students from underrepresented backgrounds in golf. This program, held during the U.S. Open Championship, aims to provide participants with exposure to various career opportunities within the golf industry, enhance their professional development, and create networking opportunities with industry leaders. The internship will take place from June 6 to June 16, 2025, in Oakmont, PA, and is focused on fostering inclusivity and diversity in the golf community.

Requirements

• Demonstrated maturity, dependability, integrity, and initiative to learn.
• Ability to contribute positively to a team-oriented work environment.
• No prior experience in golf is required, but a strong interest in sports is preferred.
• Must be enrolled in an undergraduate (rising sophomore or above) or graduate program at an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

• Participate in leadership and corporate navigation sessions.
• Engage in career development sessions.
• Attend industry leadership panels.
• Contribute to community impact opportunities.
• Network with professionals in the Oakmont/Pittsburgh community.
• Gain practical experience through on-the-job training and shadowing.
• Compete in the Pathways Pitch Competition.
