About the position

The System Administrator 1 position at InterImage, Inc. is responsible for providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for IT systems, including problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution. The role involves monitoring and maintaining client/server/storage/network devices and ensuring optimal system operations. This position requires a strong background in system administration, particularly with VMWARE and Linux, and is essential for supporting day-to-day IT operations at Fort Meade, MD.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.
• Support IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices and mobile devices.
• Communicate status updates to agency management and internal customers regarding escalated issues.
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning.

Requirements

• Seven years of experience as a System Administrator in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
• DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level 2 certification is required.
• Five years of additional System Administrator experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with VMWARE and exposure to AWS.
• Linux system administration experience.
