About the position

The Junior Software Engineer position at ARSIEM Corporation involves supporting government clients by developing analytics based on various cyber data sources. The role emphasizes collaboration in a fast-paced environment, utilizing leading technologies to create innovative solutions. The engineer will work primarily in a Linux environment and engage with AWS and other platforms to enhance data analytics capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop analytics based on data from multiple cyber sources and classic SIGINT via data tagging.
  • Produce metrics based on data tagging efforts.
  • Develop prototypes to answer new questions and improve existing solutions.
  • Collaborate directly with customers in a fast-paced, integrated environment.
  • Utilize Java in a Linux environment for analytics development.
  • Research and work with AWS and other development platforms.
  • Contribute to a cohesive, small team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience or Master's degree with no experience.
  • An Associate's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience or high school diploma/GED plus 6 years of relevant experience may be considered.
  • Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
  • Experience in software development/engineering including requirements analysis, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, and problem diagnosis/resolution.
  • Proficiency in Java, Pig/MapReduce, and Python.
  • Experience with AWS and distributed scalable Big Data Store (NoSQL) such as H Base, CloudBase/Accumulo, Big Table.
  • Familiarity with Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) and technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig.
  • Experience with Serialization formats like JSON or BSON, developing restful services, and using source code management tools.
  • Experience with GHOSTMACHINE analytic development.
  • Experience in analytic development in a Linux environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with GM analytic development.
  • Experience with Maven and Git.
  • Familiarity with Apache NiFi.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and initiative-driven.
