About the position

The Azure Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the network and systems administration of multiple cloud-based environments, specifically within Microsoft Azure Government Cloud and Microsoft 365 (M365) in GCC High tenants. This role involves troubleshooting, configuring, deploying, and securing cloud system resources, as well as designing scalable infrastructure to meet business needs. The engineer will also monitor cloud consumption, suggest improvements, and maintain technical documentation, ensuring efficient and secure operations within the cloud environment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, triage, escalate, and assist users with issues related to the hybrid network infrastructure.
  • Build, configure, deploy, secure, and administer cloud system resources and servers.
  • Design scalable infrastructure for IT projects to meet specified business needs.
  • Devise and implement technical solutions to improve quality and efficiency.
  • Assess traffic flow and establish necessary firewall rules and proxy exceptions.
  • Create automated jobs and scripts to streamline routine system tasks.
  • Monitor consumption and suggest improvements to reduce costs and maximize value.
  • Administer and manage cloud-based applications and services.
  • Perform routine system maintenance, including upgrades and security patching.
  • Assist system owners in triaging issues and escalating tickets as required.
  • Develop, maintain, and debug custom IT solutions and program code.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation regarding network and system design.
  • Create and modify domain objects, groups, and policies in Active Directory.
  • Perform analysis on emerging application enhancements.
  • Provide input and recommendations for current and future policies and procedures.
  • Conduct internal technical reviews to improve performance and support.
  • Work assigned service tickets and tasks according to Acceptable Quality Level (AQL).
  • Develop standard operating procedures and knowledge base articles.
  • Provide required certifications and resume for review and validation.
  • Demonstrate leadership and work without supervision.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a cloud engineer supporting cloud infrastructure and applications.
  • Experience with Active Directory and Microsoft Azure.
  • Current certifications: CompTIA Security+ and Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator.
  • Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • PowerShell/Bash knowledge
  • Experience with DNS and DHCP
  • Group Policy Management skills
  • Familiarity with DevOps methodology and tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Experience with Server/Desktop Virtualization
  • Understanding of Network-Attached Storage (NAS) protocols
  • Minimal Linux OS knowledge
  • Experience with Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication.
